Who We Are

This Privacy Policy applies to Made in Time, operated by Jessie Elliott. It covers the Made in Time app on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.

Privacy Summary

Made in Time is designed so your project and time-tracking data stays under your control.

The projects, sessions, notes, photos, preferences, and other records you create in Made in Time are stored on your device. If iCloud is enabled for Made in Time, that data may also be stored and synced through your own iCloud account using Apple CloudKit and iCloud.

Made in Time does not use the content of your projects, notes, photos, sessions, or other user-created records for analytics or advertising.

Made in Time uses analytics and crash-reporting services to understand product and feature usage, diagnose problems, and improve the app. These services may collect feature-usage events, app and device information, crash logs, diagnostics, and identifiers needed for analytics or crash reporting.

Made in Time may also display cross-promotional advertisements for other apps through Kickstart Exchange. Kickstart processes app-level advertisement delivery and interaction information. This information is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Data You Create in the App

Made in Time lets you create and manage project and time-tracking information. Depending on which features you use, this may include:

  • Project names, descriptions, statuses, icons, colors, priorities, deadlines, and preferences
  • Time-tracking sessions, including start times, stop times, durations, and manual time entries
  • Notes or descriptions added to projects or sessions
  • Optional photos or images added through app features
  • App-specific preferences, such as sort order, onboarding state, widget state, Siri and Shortcuts state, and recent or last-used project references

This user-created data is used to provide the app’s core functionality.

Made in Time does not sell, rent, or use the content of this user-created data for analytics, advertising, or marketing.

Local Storage and iCloud

Made in Time stores user-created app data locally on your device.

If iCloud is enabled for Made in Time, your app data may also sync through Apple CloudKit and iCloud so it can be available across your devices. This iCloud data is associated with your Apple account and is handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy practices.

Made in Time does not operate its own server for your project, note, photo, or time-tracking content.

Analytics and Feature Usage

Made in Time uses Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics to understand product and feature usage and improve the app.

Analytics may include information such as:

  • Which app features are used
  • General app interactions and screen or feature events
  • App version, device type, operating-system version, and approximate technical information
  • Random or app-specific identifiers used for analytics

Made in Time does not send project names, note text, photos, descriptions, or other user-created content to analytics.

Analytics are used to understand how the app is used at a product level, not to inspect the personal content users create in the app.

Crash Reporting and Diagnostics

Made in Time uses Firebase Crashlytics to help identify, diagnose, and fix crashes and stability issues.

Crash reporting and diagnostics may include:

  • Crash logs and stack traces
  • App version and operating-system version
  • Device model and technical diagnostic information
  • Firebase or Crashlytics installation identifiers
  • Information needed to understand when and why a crash occurred

Crash reporting is used to improve app stability and reliability. It is not used to inspect the content of your projects, notes, photos, or time-tracking records.

Advertising and Kickstart Exchange

Made in Time uses Kickstart Exchange, operated by Hudson Heavy Industries Ltd, to display cross-promotional advertisements for other apps.

When the Kickstart Exchange integration is active, it may process:

  • Made in Time’s bundle identifier
  • The device platform
  • The app version, build version, and Kickstart SDK version
  • The country associated with the device’s App Store storefront
  • App-level advertisement deliveries, impressions, clicks, and reports
  • A short-lived Apple-signed App Transaction, when StoreKit makes one available

The App Store storefront country is used for app availability, compatibility, reporting, and accounting. It is not treated as the precise location of a particular person or device.

In shipping builds, Kickstart may temporarily process a locally verified Apple-signed App Transaction to confirm that Made in Time is a production App Store installation. Kickstart states that this transaction is discarded after verification and is not retained or used for identification, profiling, analytics, or advertising targeting.

Kickstart’s advertisement requests and artwork are delivered through Cloudflare. As part of providing its network and security services, Cloudflare processes the connecting IP address. Kickstart states that it does not retain that address or use it to identify an individual.

Kickstart records advertisement activity at the app level rather than associating it with a particular user or device. This information is not linked to your identity, is not used to build a behavioral profile, and is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Made in Time does not provide Kickstart with your project names, sessions, notes, photos, descriptions, or other user-created content.

For more information, see the Kickstart Exchange Privacy Notice.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Made in Time may offer in-app purchases, subscriptions, or optional tips through Apple StoreKit and App Store In-App Purchases.

Apple processes purchases and payments. Made in Time may receive purchase, subscription, receipt, transaction, or entitlement information needed to:

  • Load available products
  • Complete purchases
  • Restore purchases
  • Verify access to paid features
  • Manage subscription or purchase status
  • Support refunds or entitlement-related support requests

Made in Time does not receive your full payment card number from Apple.

When Data Is Shared

Made in Time does not sell or rent your personal information.

Data may be handled by the following providers only as needed to operate app features.

Apple CloudKit and iCloud

Used for private iCloud sync and storage of user-created app data if iCloud is enabled for Made in Time.

Examples may include projects, time-tracking sessions, optional photos, notes, app preferences, widgets, and Siri or Shortcuts state.

Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics

Used for product analytics and feature-usage measurement.

Analytics are used to understand how Made in Time is used and to improve the app. Made in Time does not send the content of user-created projects, notes, photos, or time-tracking records to analytics.

Firebase Crashlytics

Used for crash reporting, diagnostics, and app-stability improvements.

Kickstart Exchange

Used to display and measure cross-promotional advertisements for other apps.

Kickstart processes app-level integration, advertisement-delivery, impression, and click information. This information is not linked to your identity and is not used for cross-app tracking or behavioral profiling.

Kickstart uses Cloudflare to provide network, security, and content-delivery services.

Apple StoreKit and App Store In-App Purchases

Used for Made in Time Plus subscriptions, optional one-time tips, product loading, purchases, restores, and entitlement verification.

How We Use Data

Made in Time uses data for the following purposes:

  • To provide project and time-tracking features
  • To store and sync app data locally and through iCloud, when enabled
  • To support widgets, Siri, and Shortcuts features
  • To understand product and feature usage
  • To find, diagnose, and fix crashes or bugs
  • To manage purchase and subscription entitlements
  • To display and measure app cross-promotions through Kickstart Exchange
  • To respond to support requests

Made in Time does not use the content of your user-created projects, notes, photos, or time-tracking records for analytics or advertising.

Data Retention

User-created app data remains on your device and, if iCloud is enabled for Made in Time, in your iCloud account until you delete it, delete the app, remove the app’s iCloud data, or change your iCloud settings.

Analytics and crash-reporting data are retained according to Google and Firebase’s policies and Made in Time’s analytics configuration.

Purchase and subscription records are handled by Apple according to Apple’s App Store and payment policies. Made in Time may retain entitlement-related information as needed to provide paid features, restore purchases, provide support, or comply with legal obligations.

Kickstart Exchange retains app-level advertisement delivery and interaction records for approximately 30 days. It may retain daily aggregate app-to-app statistics, such as app identifiers, date, platform, storefront, accounting results, and impression or click totals, for historical analytics without a fixed deletion date. These records and aggregates are not associated with an individual user or device.

For complete details about Kickstart’s retention practices, see the Kickstart Exchange Privacy Notice.

Security

Made in Time uses Apple platform storage, iCloud and CloudKit, StoreKit, Firebase, Google Analytics, and Kickstart Exchange services to operate the app.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
